The Brazilian playmaker is a bit of a character and the keen skateboarding geek is set to be the Reds’ latest new addition.
Scarpa is leaving Palmeiras where he won the Golden Ball for the best player in the division after helping the club to the league title.
The 28-year-old will sign a three-year contract at the City Ground and join the club on a free transfer.
Scarpa has boarded a flight to England and is thought to have landed on these shores earlier today.
He was a man on a mission last season; scoring 13 goals and claiming 15 assists to catch the eye of Forest.
It was initially anticipated that Scarpa might move to Olympiacos on loan but that move didn’t appeal to the one-time Brazil international.
Instead, he’s set for the Premier League and the left-footer looks like an exciting freebie for Forest to take.
He should bring something a little bit different to the Reds’ attack and fans will be excited to see him start to play.
Scarpa signing is imminent
After signing 22 new players during the summer, it’s perhaps no surprise to see the Reds straight into the swing of things in January.
Scarpa naturally won’t be able to play until the New Year but he will start to train with his new teammates in the meantime.
This one will take some convincing given that he’s in the later stages of his career and hasn’t tasted European football just yet.
But, there is a lot to like about Scarpa and one thing Forest could do with is someone to come in and score some goals.
The Brazilian could be a hit or he could be a miss but this does look like a signing that makes a lot of sense at this stage of the season.
