Nottingham Forest academy director Gary Brazil has announced on Twitter that a new tribute has been made to two stars at the training ground. Ryan Yates and Joe Worrall are the subject of the new introduction and they’ve been lauded by Brazil.

The Reds won promotion to the Premier League in May. The team was built on a quality spine, with Worrall and Yates both very impressive in the club’s meteoric rise up the Championship.

Now, the club have done something to pay testament to the academy graduates. They’ve painted an image of the two players celebrating the Wembley success on the walls of the training ground.

Both players were instrumental in the club’s promotion. Worrall often found himself captaining the team, with Yates also taking the armband on some occasions during the 2021/22 campaign.

Yates and Worrall are important to the Forest dressing room. Although both are talented players, their importance is clearly evident within their squad and they have the respect of their teammates.

Forest do some amazing work behind the scenes. The academy is the heartbeat of the football club and Brazil should get the freedom of the City Ground with the work he’s achieved in bringing players through.

Few can begrudge that these two deserve recognition from the academy. They are two of the best players to come through the system and their participation in the promotion-winning campaign was evident.

The challenge for both is to gain consistency. Playing in the Premier League has proved a tough school. But, slowly and surely the Reds duo are now starting to find their feet in the top flight.

Both players are quality players to have in the squad. Yates, in particular, always gives his all for the team. He’s a real warrior and a player that lots of current academy stars should look up to.

Brazil is clearly proud of Yates and Worrall. He should be too, given that he played a really huge part in the development of the two players who are now thriving at Forest.
