Olympiacos are eying a triple raid on Nottingham Forest for three players in January. Loic Bade, Willy Boly and Loic Mbe Soh are the three members of the Forest squad in the sights of the Evangelos Marinakis-led club.
The three players are wanted by the Greek champions, according to Filathlos. Olympiacos are clearly looking to beef up their rearguard and fancy taking a punt on the Forest trio.
Bade and Mbe Soh desperately need to play football. In the case of French defender Bade, he’s not played a single minute of action since arriving at the club in August.
Mbe Soh has struggled for game time since arriving on Trentside. The Frenchman has struggled with some fitness concerns and a loan move would definitely benefit him.
Any decision to offload Boly might come as a surprise. He played the two games prior to the World Cup break and did particularly well against Crystal Palace.
Boly only signed for the club in the summer. He was added as an experienced head to the Forest rearguard and it would seem odd to sell him.
Still, Forest will go in search of another central defender. A bit of pace is perhaps going to be required and some players will have to make way.
The Reds won’t rest on their laurels in January. Steve Cooper will be keen to add a couple more players to his ranks and given that only 25 players can be registered, some will need to leave.
Olympiacos eyeing raid on Forest
Letting Mbe Soh and Bade leave makes a lot of sense. Neither are playing regular football and it’s doing nobody any favours with them kicking their heels in the stands on a matchday.
Boly would perhaps be more of a strange one. The 32-year-old is a vastly experienced performer and he could be vital in Forest’s quest to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Forest do need to streamline their squad a bit though. The Reds are trying desperately to get a settled squad together and more changes will be on the horizon.
It seems unlikely that Olympiacos will sign all three central defenders. If Forest can get them off their books one way or another, however, it would be best for all parties during the January transfer window.
