A report by Nottinghamshire Live has detailed the plan put in place for Neco Williams by Nottingham Forest. The player is now back from Qatar after playing three games for Wales during the tournament.
Some questions have been asked regarding Williams. Brennan Johnson was also part of the Wales squad and he played for an hour as Forest lost to Olympiacos on Saturday.
Williams, along with Wayne Hennessey wasn’t available. Naturally, supporters expected that the trio would return together but that simply hasn’t been the case.
It would appear that Forest are going to be safe with Williams. He departed the game against England with a head injury and he won’t be rushed back into training.
The 21-year-old did himself proud in Qatar. He played in the first game against the USA just days after discovering that his grandad had passed away.
He then played as Wales lost 2-0 to Iran and started in the defeat to England. It was a poor tournament for Rob Page’s men but they will come again.
Now, Williams will get the chance to blend himself back into things at Forest slowly. The defender is working on an individual program back in Nottingham, it’s been claimed.

The youngster has been on an emotional rollercoaster in recent weeks. Forest are definitely right to treat him with due care and not taking him to Greece looks like a wise decision.
Williams had lost his place in the Forest team prior to the World Cup. Serge Aurier had been handed the chance to play at right-back and he’s grasped the opportunity.
He will remain an important player, however. Williams cost the club £17.5 million and he will be a bright player for the club in the future.
Now, it’s about getting him right on an emotional and a physical level. Steve Cooper has made the right decision here and Williams will return stronger for it.
