Nottingham Forest newcomer Gustavo Scarpa looks to have hit it off with Renan Lodi at the City Ground. Some training footage on Instagram has showcased a brilliant goal with the two players linking up.
The 28-year-old has checked in at the City Ground from Palmeiras. He won the Golden Ball last season to be crowned the division’s best player after the Brazilian outfit claimed another league title.
Scarpa’s form was truly amazing during the 2022 campaign in Brazi. He scored 13 goals and claimed 15 assists as Palmeiras as they won the division at a canter.

Now, the versatile attacker has skateboarded into the City Ground with a smile on his face. He seems determined to become a hit and the early prognosis looks pretty good, to be honest.
He registered two assists during a practice match against Atromitos and then got more game time under his belt against Olympiacos. Forest didn’t play particularly well in that one but more minutes are the most integral thing.
It would appear that he’s working hard on the training ground. Furthermore, he’s striking up quite a relationship with Lodi on and off the pitch and that can only bode well.
The Brazilian has posted a video on his Instagram of the two working in tandem. Lodi fizzes a delicious ball over and Scarpa meets it with a bullet header to score from a fantastic routine.
Scarpa and Lodi hit it off at Forest
It’s great that Scarpa has someone in the Forest ranks to help him settle at the club. Lodi is a compatriot and perhaps the pair can grow together down the left-hand side for the Reds this season.
The on-loan defender has been a slow burner at the City Ground. He’s cooped an unfair amount of flak after some Forest thrashings but it’s not solely been down to him that the Reds have had some difficult results.

Now, Scarpa could help him. Having a fellow left-footed option on that side could bring even more balance to the team and the Reds could start to thrive with the duo in the team.
This goal is something positive for supporters to see. Of course, it’s a training ground goal and came with no defenders challenging either the cross or the header.
Scarpa looks like a great character to have around the place. He’s always got a smile on his face and on a free transfer, he could prove very useful indeed.
