Nottingham Forest defender Loic Bade will be pursued by Sevilla in the January transfer window. Furthermore, the La Liga outfit are growing in confidence that they can get a deal for the central defender over the line.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Rennes are looking to cancel his loan with Forest next month. He arrived in August but has failed to make a single appearance, looking like a bizarre signing.

Now, Bade’s hell could be about to end. Sevilla are keen to take him on loan for the remainder of the season and then agree on a fee of £12 million with the talented youngster.

A move to the La Liga club would see him join another Forest flop. Striker Rafa Mir spent a pretty turgid time at Forest during 2019/20 and he’s currently in place at Sevilla.

Alejandro Saez has claimed that Sevilla want to land Bade. With that in mind, he could be allowed to leave in January and play some badly-needed minutes during the second half of the season.

Bade has found himself behind several defenders at Forest. Steve Cook, Joe Worrall, Scott McKenna and Willy Boly have all been in front of the Frenchman at the City Ground.

This will go down as one of the club’s most bizarre signings in recent memory. It seems crystal clear that Cooper didn’t want to sign him and that is a bit of a worry.

Bade’s understanding of the English language hasn’t helped him settle. Cooper touched on his English when he first signed and it seems one factor as to why he’s not played.

Letting Bade leave makes perfect sense. It will create a space in the Forest squad and allow the player a big chance to get out and play some football.

Forest are better off drawing a line under this one. Bade clearly hasn’t made the grade in England and it’s best for all parties that they move on pretty quickly.
