Italian report makes bizarre claim about Nottingham Forest man and it sounds like nonsense

According to reports in Italy, Steve Cooper is in danger of losing his job at Nottingham Forest but it sounds like complete and utter nonsense!

The claim comes from Tuttosport, who claim that Torino want to hand Ivan Juric a new deal, with the Reds still sniffing around him.

Forest were toying with the idea of sacking Cooper in October but a backlash from supporters clearly left the club in two minds.

They ultimately backed their head coach. The Welsh boss was handed a new three-year contract and since then, things have settled a little bit.

Forest went into the World Cup break in 18th place in the Premier League, having claimed four points from their final two games.

Cooper is worshipped by supporters. In a bizarre way, some would accept relegation this season if the ex-Swansea boss remained in charge.

Juric has bags of experience in Italy but none in England and adding him as the new head coach just makes zero sense.

Furthermore, reports of Cooper still in danger don’t seem to make any sense, with the fans and hierarchy seemingly now satisfied with the boss.

Nobody at the club will be resting on their laurels just yet. Forest have plenty of work to do to stave off relegation but the current boss is the man to do it.

Reports in Italy claim Cooper is still in danger but he should have Forest job for life

It seems highly unlikely that Cooper will be going anywhere this season. He only signed his new contract in October and this looks like agents doing their job in Italy.

By telling the media that Forest are still keen, it could hand Juric a bartering chip when it comes to negotiating his new contract.

Forest shouldn’t consider sacking Cooper. In handing him a new deal they’ve done everything right and they should be applauded for not wielding the axe.

The promotion-winner has the love and respect of everyone at the City Ground and these reports in Italy sound as wide of the mark as a Nicolao Dumitru shot at goal.

Cooper should have a contract for life on Trentside and he still has unfinished business at the City Ground.
