Nottingham Forest Christmas fixtures: Predicting our three festive results

Nottingham Forest have three big matches to come over the festive period and hopefully, some Premier League points can be collected.

The Reds won’t want the weather to turn as they bid to climb out of the relegation zone in the top flight.

Forest came unstuck a little bit last Christmas. They were beaten away at Middlesbrough and then lost at home to Huddersfield.

This season things will be slightly tougher, with Manchester United and Chelsea on the agenda and Forest in a different division.

Ahead of the Christmas fixtures, we had a go at predicting how the Reds might perform during the festivities.

Forest’s fixtures over Christmas predicted:

Manchester United (A)

Gulp! Welcome to the premier League at Christmas. United away and Forest will be in for a seriously tough match.

Prior to the World Cup, United had started to hit a bit of form and they’re going to be firmly in the mix for a top-four place.

Erik ten Hag will be aware of Forest’s abysmal record on their travels in the Premier League and might smell blood.

We’ve got to be honest, we can’t see anything other than a defeat here at Old Trafford.

Prediction: 3-0 to United

Chelsea (H)

Whether or not Forest stay in the Premier League will be largely dependent on their form at the City Ground.

In the last three home games, the Reds have claimed seven points from fixtures against Liverpool, Brentford and Crystal Palace.

Chelsea aren’t in the greatest form ever despite the fact that they do have lots of quality within their squad.

As a result, we think Forest can take something from this game especially if they can get the first goal.

Expect another magnificent night under the City Ground lights.

Prediction: 1-1 draw

Southampton (A)

This looks like a real tussle between two rivals for a relegation spot this season.

Nathan Jones has taken over at St Mary’s Stadium and he will hope to get his Saints team firing for this huge game.

Forest at the time of writing are above Southampton in the Premier League, although that might not be the case once the game comes around.

We think this could be the game where it clicks for Forest on the road and a big win could be there for the Reds.
