Nottingham Forest star Taiwo Awoniyi has received Instagram messages from Jesse Lingard and Sheraldo Becker after Sunday’s draw with Chelsea. The Nigerian forward was named Man of the Match for his performance against Graham Potter’s team at the weekend.
Awoniyi is slowly but surely starting to showcase his quality to the Forest supporters. He is the team’s leading goalscorer this season with four strikes to his name since checking in from Union Berlin during the summer.

The striker had been compared to Keinan Davis when he was signed. That comparison seems harsh, however, with the two players boasting different attributes from one another.
Awoniyi was outstanding against Chelsea. He tormented the Blues’ defensive unit and it was actually a bit of a masterstroke by Steve Cooper to deploy him on the left flank.
Awoniyi looks like a player that needs to play regularly for Forest. He’s unorthodox at times but in full flight, he proves an absolute nightmare for defenders to get to grips with.

The 25-year-old could have perhaps added to his tally against Chelsea. He was in acres of space as Brennan Johnson broke free but the academy graduate choose to take on the shot himself.
Awoniyi received Instagram messages from Lingard and Becker
The rumour mill will go into overdrive with Berlin star Becker commenting on Awoniyi’s performance. He has been linked with a move to the City Ground this month and he could thrive in the Premier League.
Becker commented: “Dimoe”, on Awoniyi’s post. It’s unsure what this translates to but he also posted the love heart emoji alongside his message to the Forest talisman.
Lingard has picked up a hamstring problem. He watched on from the sidelines as the Reds drew with Chelsea and he also posted on Awoniyi’s Instagram following the game.
He posted: “Beast mode”. Lingard had a point with the youngster proving a real nightmare to Chelsea as he marauded forward several times during the City Ground clash.
There is more to come from Awoniyi and he will hope to continue his run of games in the Forest attack.
