Nottingham Forest gem Ateef Konate is wanted by a number of Championship clubs, according to The Athletic. David Ornstein claims Stoke and Bristol City are leading the chase for his signature.
The French winger has a contract at the City Ground until 2024. It’s thought, however, that Forest feel that the next stage in his development is to go out on loan and play men’s football.

Stoke and Bristol City aren’t the only clubs interested in his signature. There are also a number of League One clubs keen to take him; whilst Odense BK are also keen in Denmark.
Konate arrived at Forest from Le Havre in France. He was part of their respected academy and checked in at the City Ground with a reputation that suggested he could have a bright career.
Last season, the 21-year-old made his debut in the senior ranks. He came on as a second-half substitute during a 3-0 win over Barnsley in February and looked lively during his cameo.
Konate has caught the eye in Forest’s Premier League 2 campaign this season. He has scored five goals in six appearances and now the Reds want him to gain more experience.
Forest gem Konate wanted by Championship clubs
The Reds need to try and get some of their youngsters out on loan this month. Konate is no exception and with the club now in the Premier League, the pathway for the young talent won’t be quite as clear.

Forest won’t ignore the club’s academy. Right now, however, the priority is to stay in the Premier League and that’s perhaps not an environment where youngsters can thrive.
Konate does look ready for men’s football though. He has acquitted himself very well in the Premier League 2 but the next step does seem to be heading out on loan and playing some men’s football.
