Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the deal that will involve Danilo going to Nottingham Forest. The Reds are pushing to get the deal done, although interest remains from Monaco.
Forest are keen to add a midfield enforcer to their ranks this month. As a result, they’ve identified one of the best and most highly sought-after in world football in Danilo.
Arsenal have been trying to sign the Brazilian performer since the summer. Mikel Arteta is a huge fan but with the January transfer window now open, his priorities lie elsewhere.

Romano believes that Forest are working hard to find a full agreement. The Reds will agree on a final fee of around £18 million, with Palmeiras thought to be reasonably happy with that.
Yesterday it was claimed that several clubs are keen to sign Danilo. Leeds, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Arsenal all remain in the mix but their hopes of signing him are dwindling.
For a young player, the midfielder is rather experienced. Since breaking into the Palmeiras senior squad, Danilo has made 138 appearances for the Brazilian outfit and led them to the title last season.
Danilo will have a familiar face in the dressing room to help him settle at Forest. Gustavo Scarpa is settling into life in England having officially signed for the club last month.
Danilo to Nottingham Forest: Romano provides update
This would be quite a signing from a Forest perspective. Danilo looks like a real start of the future and he’s already got plenty of experience under his belt as a senior player.
Naturally, he will have to prove himself in England. He does look very capable though and the fact that half of the Premier League wanted him is pretty telling and a reason to be excited.

Danilo will provide competition in the midfield ranks. What he will do in the short term is give Steve Cooper a midfield enforcer in his ranks after Cheikhou Kouyate was ruled out until March.
Romano’s claims are very exciting. Given that things are progressing it looks as though we could be very close to hearing the transfer guru’s famous ‘here we go’ line regarding Danilo to Nottingham Forest.
