Nottingham Forest face Wolves tonight in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup and we’ve looked at a predicted line-up that Steve Cooper could pick.

The Reds were dumped out of the FA Cup on Saturday. Blackpool thrashed them 4-1 at Bloomfield Road, with Cooper raging at the end.

Tonight is a new challenge and Forest stand just 90 minutes away from reaching a two-legged semi-final of the League Cup.

Ahead of tonight’s game, we looked at how Forest could line-up against Julen Lopetegui’s new-look side.

Predicted Nottingham Forest line-up to play Wolves:

The Forest rearguard

Dean Henderson looks set to return between the posts tonight, with Wayne Hennessey getting a run out at the weekend.

There could be a host of chances at the back too, with Cooper reverting to the back four that drew with Chelsea.

Serge Aurier and Renan Lodi will start in the full-back positions as they look to continue their fine form.

At central defence, Willy Boly and Joe Worrall have struck up a decent partnership of late and should return to the side.

In midfield, there could be changes too. After Saturday’s woeful performance, Cooper will likely recall his three first-choice midfielders.

Remo Freuler wasn’t even in the squad at the weekend and he should be well-rested ahead of tonight.

Ryan Yates came on as a substitute to net a late consolation goal and he will definitely start this evening.

Orel Mangala will complete the trio, coming in for Lewis O’Brien who will hope to be on the bench.

Leading the Forest line

Taiwo Awoniyi might not be risked with such a huge game on the horizon at the weekend against Leicester.

If Morgan Gibbs-White makes it, he could go back out onto the left, with Gustavo Scarpa coming in on the left.

Brennan Johnson will definitely start on the right as Forest look to get at Wolves down the right-hand side.
