TalkSPORT claims that Nottingham Forest are interested in the signing of Brazilian winger Tete. The Reds are hoping to do business for the player who has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham.

Tete is currently owned by Shakhtar Donetsk. He’s spent the last six months in France with Lyon with FIFA allowing players from Ukrainian clubs special dispensation to go elsewhere.

The 22-year-old is keen to move on this month but Forest will face competition. Everton and Wolves have also shown an interest and it’s not clear at this stage whether or not Tottenham remain keen.

Tete could prove a useful addition to clubs in the Premier League. He has pace to burn and he’s extremely skilful to the point where he often leaves opposition defenders in his wake.

As a youngster, he has bags of potential and he’s at an age where his best is yet to come. Shakhtar clearly rate him highlight and he has a £127 million release clause in his contract.

That valuation is more to protect the club. Of course, he won’t be costing any Premier League outfit that much money but it certainly highlights how much they rate him.

It doesn’t sound as though anything is close with this one. Tete looks likely to leave Lyon this window though and naturally, a lot of Premier League clubs are weighing up whether or not to move.

Tete has made a decent start to life in Ligue 1 during 2022/23. He’s scored six goals and claimed three assists from his 16 appearances; averaging a goal or assist every 188 minutes.

Forest would like to sign another attacking player this month. Jesse Lingard is currently out injured, whilst Emmanuel Dennis and Sam Surridge have both been linked with a move away from the City Ground.

Rumour rating: 5/10 – Tete would be a useful signing and he’s probably for the profile of a Forest signing very nicely.

The source, however, might be a little sketchy. TalkSPORT aren’t always the most reliable and this could be agents doing their best to get Tete to the Premier League.
