Nottingham Forest are signing an ‘important player’ in Danilo, according to Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira. The Reds are close to capturing the Brazilian in a deal with £18 million, with the player now thought to be in England.
Forest have moved quickly to add Danilo to their ranks. Cheikhou Kouyate picked up a hamstring injury at the World Cup and clearly, the engine room could do with some more steel.

The 21-year-old is left-footed and last season he helped Palmeiras win the league title. He often found himself lining up alongside Gustavo Scarpa and his presence at Forest should help him settle.
Danilo is nearing a move to Forest now. The Reds have won the race to sign the player, with Arsenal, Newcastle and Leeds also keen to sign him during the January transfer window.
Ferreira has been quizzed on the departure of Danilo. He believes that he will need to replace him quickly before their season gets underway in February.
He told Globo: “We lost an important player, they paid £18 million and it’s up to the club to make decisions. We are looking for a quality player. You pay for quality. One left and another quality one has to come in. Quality costs money.”
Incoming Forest signing Danilo is called important by Ferreira
It has to be said that this deal looks like a very exciting addition to say the very least. At 21-years-old, he has well over 100 appearances to his name and that should bode well.
Forest have moved quickly to replace Kouyate. He was playing exceptionally well prior to the World Cup and his injury has come at a really unfortunate time for the Reds.

Danilo models his game on N’Golo Kante. He will now get to rub shoulders with the Frenchman and he will now get his chance to shine in the Premier League for Forest.
This deal looks like an exciting signing for the Reds. Given his recent quotes, it seems as though, Ferreira will be sad to see Danilo leave Palmeiras this month.
