Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has refused to criticise Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Ethan Horvath. The American had some awkward moments as the Hatters were beaten by West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.
Luton signed the United States international on loan during the summer when Nathan Jones was the manager. Since Edwards arrived at the club, Horvath has kept his place as the club’s number one.
The play-off chasing team were actually winning 2-0 against the Baggies on Saturday. But, Carlos Corberan inspired a wonderful comeback to see the visitors leave Kenilworth Road with all three points.

Horvath was at fault for two of the goals. He tried to come and clear the ball at 2-0 up but Matt Phillips was quicker than him and the ball bounced into an unguarded net.
Then he was only able to parry a Phillips effort, with Jayson Molumby smashing into the net to restore parity.
Edwards wasn’t about to criticise the goalkeeper though. He implied that he will remain the club’s number one as was actually happy with his performance overall.
He told Luton Today: “He’s been fantastic, he made some brilliant saves as well today, so there is absolutely no criticism coming his way from me, at all.
“At the time you think, we’ve just got to clear out lines and we didn’t.”
Edwards has refused to criticise Horvath
It will certainly be interesting to see what happens with Horvath. It would definitely seem as though Edwards fancies him as his number-one goalkeeper and that bodes well.
If Forest were to slip out of the Premier League this season, it’s not unfeasible that he comes back to the City Ground. The Reds would likely need a stopper and why not Horvath?

Should Forest win promotion, however, they will likely try and sign Dean Henderson. That could mean a transfer for Horvath and Luton would probably like to keep him.
It’s great to see Edwards publicly back the Forest man after his sticky moments between the posts. That should do his confidence the world of good and he will hope to get back on track now.
