Nottingham Forest have made an ambitious offer to sign Keylor Navas from PSG, according to L’Equipe. The stopper is under contract in Paris until 2024 but is behind Gianluigi Donnarumma at Le Parc des Princes.
Navas is a well-seasoned stopper who is still extremely capable. Now, 36-years-old, he could be on the move away from PSG and about to embark on another chapter in a wonderful career.
The man who played in all three games for Costa Rica at the World Cup in Qatar is a wanted man. Bournemouth have enquired about him; whilst Al-Nassr want to make him a second January signing after Cristiano Ronaldo.

Navas has played with Ronaldo before. He’s won three Champions League titles during his career and made 162 appearances for Los Blancos, keeping 52 clean sheets.
The experienced stopper has also tasted silverware with PSG. He’s been a title-winner in France on two occasions, with another league title coming for Real Madrid in 2016/17.

Now, PSG are willing to let him leave the club this month. It could be good news for Forest too, with Navas likely to prefer a move to a top European league, if he leaves the French champions.
Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of Navas. After a Champions League clash with Barcelona in 2021, he called the goalkeeper ‘quality’ for his performance that secured PSG a quarter-final berth.
Forest have made offer for Navas – and he’d be a quality signing
With Dean Henderson out injured, signing another goalkeeper does make sense. If the Reds custodian is going to be out longer than the expected four weeks, then adding Navas makes sense.
It would be a remarkable coup for the Reds to land Navas. He’s not only had a superb club career but he’s also made 110 appearances for Costa Rica.

The report says that both Forest and Bournemouth would be willing to offer substantial salaries. It’s unlikely to be a long deal if he does sign so that wouldn’t be too much of a worry.
Rumour rating: 9/10 – This would be quite something. Forget his age, Navas is an accomplished goalkeeper who has once been considered among the top goalkeepers in world football.
One bad thing would be that if Navas signed, it likely means that Henderson will be out longer than first anticipated. Still, if there is a chance of Forest signing the Costa Rican, it’s one they should definitely get done.
