Nottingham Forest look set to miss out on the signing of PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas, with the player wanting to leave in the summer on a free transfer. According to Get French Football News, the stopper has also rejected the advances of Al-Nassr.

Navas was linked with a move to the City Ground earlier this week. He’s fallen behind Gianluigi Donnarumma at the Ligue 1 champions and at this stage of his career, he wants to play football.

The man who won three Champions League titles with Real Madrid has enjoyed a brilliant career. Now, at 36-years-old, he clearly wants to be playing regularly but he might stick it out at PSG for a while longer.

Navas has played just once during 2022/23. Forest had identified him as a possible option for their ranks after Dean Henderson was ruled out of action for around a month with a thigh problem.

The 36-year-old has previously kept Donnarumma out of the PSG team during his time at the club. It was previously claimed that Lionel Messi was instrumental in that decision and the sensation is a huge fan of Navas.

Navas will be available on a free in the summer but it seems unlikely that Forest will move. He’s on a huge salary with PSG and already the Reds are being linked with other goalkeepers.

Forest set to miss out on Navas

Let’s face it, this was always ambitious. It was so ambitious that even religious players of Football Manager through the years were starting to suggest that this one couldn’t be pulled off!

Navas is on a large salary at PSG. It’s claimed that he earns in the region of £200,00-a-week and even if he’d gone out on loan this month, the Parisians would have wanted a large chunk of that paying.

Forest might have asked the question about Navas. The Reds landed Jesse Lingard and Serge Aurier as stellar additions in the summer but the PSG man looks way out of reach.

This link might have to be marked under pure speculation. With the goalkeeper likely turning down a fortune to play for Al-Nassr, it seems likely that he will stick it out at PSG until the summer.
