Whisper it quietly to Wolves fans but Nottingham Forest have hit the jackpot with Morgan Gibbs-White. Yesterday as the Reds drew with Bournemouth, he did something that was absolutely remarkable.

The Reds trailed for a large part of the game. Jaiden Anthony gave the Cherries a first-half lead and with the game slipping away, it looked as though a first defeat in four games was on the cards.

It was always going to take a magic moment and in Gibbs-White, Forest have a player capable of providing one. His majestic ball fed Brennan Johnson and his cross-come-shot was tapped in at the back post by Sam Surridge.

The 22-year-old has a memorable afternoon and it seemed as though he really enjoyed himself at the Vitality Stadium. He started in a more familiar number 10 role but was given the license to roam and find pockets of space.

It took Gibbs-White a little bit of time to get up to speed at Forest. That was always going to be likely though, with the player arriving after the season had started having done his pre-season with Wolves.

Now, he’s firmly in his stride though and Forest are lucky to have him. The initial payment of £25 million looks like a steal in the context of the Premier League and he looks set for a bright future at the City Ground

Gibbs-White did something remarkable against Bournemouth

Against Bournemouth, the Forest star completed seven key passes and only two Premier League players have managed more in a single contest during the 2022/23 campaign.

Bruno Fernandes (9) and Mohamed Salah (8) are the only two players to have achieved more key passes in a single game during the season and Gibbs-White now goes into third place.

It’s a remarkable achievement for a player who is continuing to grow. He’s firmly captured the hearts of Forest supporters and it’s exciting to wonder just what he can accomplish in the game.

Forest now have some seriously talented creative sparks. Gibbs-White is simply incredible though and long may his current form continue for the rest of the season.
