Leon Osman has hailed Nottingham Forest duo Brennan Johnson and Morgan Gibbs-White on Football Focus. The duo came in for some praise as Alex Scott, Fara Williams and ex-Everton star Osman all discussed the Reds and their current form.

Prior to Saturday’s draw against Bournemouth, the Reds had won their last two Premier League games. In the 2-0 win over Leicester at the City Ground, both goals were scored by Johnson and assisted by Gibbs-White.

The pair are starting to strike up a lethal understanding with each other. Even on Saturday, it was Gibbs-White who set up Johnson who then saw his rasping cross turned home by Sam Surridge at the back post.

Gibbs-White, 22, took some flak when he signed, particularly from Wolves supporters. They claimed that they’d robbed Forest and suggested the Reds had overpaid to sign a talented youngster.

Now, Wolves can look up at Gibbs-White. In recent weeks, they’ve become firmly embroiled in a relegation battle, whilst Forest are starting to push in the right direction in the Premier League.

Osman has hailed Forest’s revival and he believes that it’s down to the form of two exciting young talents.

He told Football Focus: “It’s based around Morgan Gibbs-White and Brennan Johnson. They’ve found this incredible partnership and they’re instinctual with their play to each other and the balance of them both is correct. One likes to run in behind and the other likes to get his head and because of that, it’s given them the spark that they need to go on and win games. Those two have been incredible for them.

Johnson has taken some time to adapt to the Premier League but it’s fair to say that since the World Cup, he’s looked like a much better player.

Gibbs-White just oozes class as he has since he checked in on Trentside. Together, the duo have been formidable and the understanding they are gaining is game-changing.

Forest do still have some work to do, of course. The next Premier League game against Leeds looks huge and Forest the Reds will secure a big three points if they can win.

With Gibbs-White and Johnson bang in form, Forest should feel confident about creating chances in every game they play between now and the end of the season.
