Nottingham Forest have bid £18 million for Santos forward Angelo Gabriel, according to Diario Do Peixe. Newcastle have also been linked with the highly-rated striker previously.
Forest are showing no signs of abandoning their Brazilian recruitment strategy. Renan Lodi, Gustavo Scarpa and Danilo have all been added to the ranks, with the South American contingent growing.
All three current Brazilians have showcased some class. Lodi is getting better with each game, Scarpa looks lively and Danilo was excellent against Manchester United in midweek.

Now, Angelo could be the next player to make his mark on the City Ground. Forest originally saw a bid of £13 million rejected but they’ve returned immediately with another offer.
The teenager is definitely viewed as one for the future. He is only 18-years-old but was in fine form for Santos during the 2022 campaign, registering eight assists and scoring twice.
Angelo typically operates on the right-hand side of the attack. Steve Cooper may tweak that though, with Brennan Johnson making that particular position his own right now.
Forest would definitely welcome another forward coming into the club before Tuesday’s transfer deadline. Chris Wood has been added this month and now some pace would be ideal.
Forest bid for Santos forward Angelo Gabriel
The wonderkid has a lot of hype to live up to. He’s previously been compared to Pele and Neymar, making this link an exciting and intriguing one if nothing else.
Forest will want to ensure their squad is well-stocked for the final push in 2022/23. The Reds are 13th in the Premier League at the moment and they will have a firm belief that they can survive this season.

There is still work to do and in midweek, the bench did look somewhat light. As a result, their work in the transfer market might not be done just yet, with Angelo in their sights.
Rumour rating: 8/10 – There is something quite therapeutic about Forest trying to sign Brazilian wonderkids.
Angelo is the latest in a long line of South Americans to be linked and there is a lot to like about this deal.
