Keylor Navas continues to be linked with Nottingham Forest despite suggestions that Dean Henderson’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared.

Forest fans are used to some weird and wonderful rumours but links to Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Navas are pretty bonkers.

The Costa Rica goalkeeper has been at the top of the game for going on 10 years now having racked up appearances for Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Now 36, Navas is behind Gianluigi Donnarumma in the PSG pecking order and may well be on the move soon.

Forest have been heavily linked with Navas in recent days given the recent injury to Dean Henderson.

Wayne Hennessey has deputised of late but that hasn’t stopped rumours about Navas.

Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter on Saturday evening to claim that Navas has ‘accepted the idea’ of joining Forest.

Romano claims that Navas is open to the move and it’s now down to PSG to finalise a deal, as they would pay a huge part of his wages for a loan until the summer.

That sounds like Forest are still chasing a deal for the veteran stopper despite some encouraging news about Henderson.

The Independent suggest that Henderson’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared and he could return sooner than expected.

The trip to Fulham on February 11th is suggested as a potential return date for Henderson.

Given that he is ineligible to face Manchester United in midweek anyway, Henderson would then only miss the Leeds United clash next weekend if true.

Do Forest really need Navas in that situation? Sure, it’s a big name and an exciting capture but signing a loanee only really makes sense if Henderson is going to be out into March or April.

That doesn’t seem to be the case so a move for Navas seems a little odd, but Romano seems confident that the move is still a possibility in the final days of the window.
