Nottingham Forest have asked Atletico Madrid about defender Felipe as the transfer window draws to a close. According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are hoping to edge ahead of Wolves in the race to sign the central defensive option.
Steve Cooper has just a few more days to try and strengthen his squad. A defender is on the radar, whilst another winger and a midfielder could also sign before the window slams shut on Tuesday night.

Forest have been quite active this month. Gustavo Scarpa and Danilo have both checked in from Palmeiras, whilst Chris Wood has joined the ranks after being allowed to leave Newcastle.
The line with Felipe comes as little surprise. Felipe is represented by Bertolucci Sports who also represent Forest midfielder Danilo, with the club looking to agree on terms with him again.
The Reds have left no stone unturned in their quest to sign new players this month. Forest could also be about to bolster their goalkeeping options by signing Keylor Navas on a six-month loan until the end of the season.
Felipe has fallen down the pecking order at the Wanda Metropolitano. He’s made just four appearances in all competitions during 2022/23, featuring for just 28 minutes of the entire campaign.
Now, Forest are in the mix to sign the player, with Wolves also monitoring his situation. Both clubs will likely be in a relegation battle with each other and this race looks intriguing.
Forest want Atletico defender Felipe
The former Porto star will surely relish the chance to head out and play some regular first-team football. Felipe has been with Atletico for almost four years and this campaign has been by far his most frustrating.
Prior to his spell in Portugal, Felipe got plenty of experience in Brazil. The two-time international played for Corinthians in the main but also spent time with Bragantino and Coimbra before heading there.
Felipe will be out of contract in Madrid when the summer comes around. The 33-year-old central defender has made 113 appearances for Los Rojiblancos and helped them to a league title during the 2020/21 campaign.

Rumour rating: 7/10 – On a short-term deal, this might be one for the Forest supporter to get behind.
Felipe is experienced, solid and typically he’s a reliable performer on a consistent basis.
The player earns £77,000-a-week and that should be okay in the current climate for Forest. As a result, there is a lot to like about this deal but at 33, he would only be a short-term option.
