Nottingham Forest have made a bid to sign Cincinnati striker Brenner before the transfer deadline, according to MLS journalist Tom Bogert. The Reds have made an offer to loan him with an obligation to buy him, with the MLS outfit countering the deal.
The striker signed for Cincinnati in February 2021 from Sao Paulo. He’s been a major hit in the MLS, making 65 appearances and registering 33 goal contributions for his current club.

Forest are trying to sign another forward player before the transfer window closes tomorrow night. Chris Wood has been signed by the club this month but a different type of forward is now being targeted.
Brenner would see Forest strengthen their contingent of Brazilian players. Danilo and Gustavo Scarpa have been signed this month, joining Renan Lodi in the squad after he signed in August.
Furthermore, it would see as though the Reds now have a good chance of signing him. Udinese previously tried to sign him this month, with PSV also keen on taking a chance on his services.
The player, it’s claimed, has been sat out of training and it ready to leave Cincinnati. It’s thought that he’s not satisfied at the club and that could help Forest push through a deal.
Forest make bid to sign Brenner
This would be an exciting addition to the Forest ranks. When Brenner was playing for the Brazil under-17 ranks he was labelled a wonderkid after six goals from 18 appearances.
Brenner was in stunning form in the MLS last season. He scored 18 goals and claimed six assists, spending a large amount of his time playing as the centre-forward.
The player would provide a different option to Wood. Former coach Pat Noonan is a huge fan too, calling Brenner ‘outstanding’ after another scintillating performance during 2021/22.

Rumour rating: 8/10 – This would be a very exciting signing and another Brazilian for fans to buzz about at the City Ground.
Brenner would have a point to prove in a top European league but ultimately he’d be a sound investment for the future at Forest.
There is an awful lot to like about this deal and the Reds would be wise to get this one over the line before tomorrow’s deadline.
