Things are moving quickly at Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day and Renan Lodi has welcomed Felipe to the Nigel Doughty Academy. The Atletico Madrid star is set to sign for the Reds in a deal worth £2 million later today.
The Reds are moving fast on what promises to be a hectic day. Forest have several injury concerns and naturally, that’s led to Steve Cooper dipping his toe into the transfer market.
Lodi signed for Forest from Atletico in August. He’s established himself as the primary left-back option and his presence will give Felipe a familiar face to help him settle.

The centre-back is a proven performer at the very top level. Alongside Lodi, he helped Atletico Madrid win a league title at the expense of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Having the 33-year-old come into the rearguard can only be a good thing. The Reds have been on the hunt for a new central defender, with the occasional lapse still evident at the back.
Now, this deal looks to moving close. In the last hour, Forest star Lodi has been spotted arriving at the club’s training ground to welcome Felipe who is about to sign terms.
Lodi has welcomed Felipe to Forest
It will be useful for the Brazilian to have a former teammate by his side as he gets accustomed to England. The transition from other European leagues is sometimes tricky and Felipe should benefit from Lodi’s presence.
As an experienced performer, the Reds will welcome the two-cap Brazil international with open arms. He could prove vital in the team’s quest to stay up this season.
It looked like a heartwarming moment when Felipe arrived at Forest. Lodi met him and after a warm embrace, the pair disappeared with a club representative into the training building.
Felipe looks unlikely to play against Manchester United tomorrow. However, he will have one eye on Sunday’s clash against Leeds in what looks like a massive game for the Reds.
