The deal involving Harry Toffolo leaving Nottingham Forest for Anderlecht is now in jeopardy, according to HNL. Their football reporter Kjell Doms believes the deal could have stalled due to an injury to Renan Lodi.
This would be a seriously big setback for the Reds. The Brazilian has just started to play well for Forest and losing him for any period of time would be detrimental to the team’s survival chances.
Toffolo has found himself down the pecking order under Steve Cooper. The head coach started the campaign with the ex-Huddersfield man at left-back but he soon lost his place to Lodi.

Now, the 27-year-old is keen to play regular first-team football. Anderlecht had been keen to sign the defender on loan and Toffolo had visited the Belgian club earlier this week.
This does seem somewhat strange though. Cooper did his pre-match press conference yesterday ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Manchester United and he didn’t suggest Lodi was injured.
That said, it could be a case of no smoke without fire. Perhaps the Reds defender will be missing tomorrow but could make a recovery in time to face Leeds at the City Ground on Sunday.
Toffolo deal now in jeopardy as Anderlecht left sweating
It would be a real shame to see Lodi injured. It would come at a time when he’s firmly silenced his critics and started to showcase his best form to the City Ground faithful.

Lodi did seem alright on a video that showcased him welcoming Felipe to the City Ground earlier today. That said, it’s not been claimed exactly what the injury is just yet.
Toffolo faces an anxious wait over the injury to Lodi. With Omar Richards still not back to full fitness, there is absolutely no chance of him being allowed to leave should Lodi actually be injured.
