Nottingham Forest have shown an interest in Molde forward Ola Brynhildsen, according to The Sun. PSV are also monitoring his situation as they try to replace Cody Gakpo who signed for Liverpool.

The Reds are trying to sign another player before the transfer deadline passes. Chris Wood has signed this month but a forward player is still in the sights of Steve Cooper before the cut-off.

Brynhildsen is the subject of interest from Forest. They’re plotting a move for the player who is valued at £5 million by Molde, although they could now be cutting things a touch fine.

Forest have added Gustavo Scarpa to their ranks this month. Another left-footed option would be pretty ideal though and getting Brynhildsen over the line would be ideal.

The left-footer looks like a player who could have a big future in the game. The 23-year-old has been with Molde since 2020, having signed from Stabaek where he came through the youth system.

During the past 12 months, he’s scored 19 goals and registered three assists. He largely played on the left wing, although he did showcase his versatility by playing as a striker too.

Molde won the league title last season but the Norwegian talents will always be at the clutches of the top European leagues. Now, the Reds are hoping to snare him away from Norway at the eleventh hour.

Forest have shown late interest in Brynhildsen

This would represent Forest signing an unknown quantity. That wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing though and there are some unearthed gems in the Scandinavian area.

Brynhildsen at £5 million could prove to be an absolute steal. Furthermore, at that price, he has to be considered a risk worth taking as Forest try and bolster their frontline.

The talented performer has also earned recognition on the international stage. He’s made two appearances for Norway and a move to the Premier League would enhance his chances of becoming a regular on the international stage.

Rumour rating: 7.5/10 – There is a lot to like about this deal but it would seem that Forest are leaving it a little late.

Signing an overseas player with the clock ticking is never easy. This one could fall into deal sheet territory, however, and it could go to the wire.
