Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett has claimed live on air that Nottingham Forest have gazumped Bayer Leverkusen in the quest to sign Felipe. The Atletico Madrid player will fly to England today and pen a deal with the Reds.
Forest have been desperate to sign a central defender this month. Steve Cooper hasn’t appeared overly convinced by any of his options this season, with Joe Worrall and Willy Boly currently in possession of the shirts.

The Reds now look to have got their man. They are signing the 33-year-old ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, with Xabi Alonso making a late move to try and sign the La Liga title-winning defender.
Forest will be extremely active during today’s deadline day. They still have irons in the fire for around three players, with a goalkeeper, a winger and a midfielder still in Cooper’s sights.
Felipe has been with Atletico since 2019 when he checked in from Porto. He’s been a loyal servant to Diego Simeone and has made 113 appearances for Los Rojiblancos.
The defender has experience playing in the Champions League. Prior to signing for Atletico, he was instrumental in Portugal, playing 142 times for Porto and scoring 11 goals.

The wheels should now roll on this deal. With a fee agreed upon between the two parties, the player can now fly over to England to sign a contract with Forest.

Felipe is getting towards the end of his career but his experience could be vital. He’s a born-winner and has also played twice for Brazil during a pretty colourful career.
Furthermore, the defender will enhance Forest’s contingent of Brazilian stars. Gustavo Scarpa and Danilo have signed this month and Felipe played with Renan Lodi at Wanda Metropolitano.
Dorsett has made this thrilling claim live on air. Felipe will add some steel to the rearguard and this looks like a very useful signing.
