What’s the story? Manchester United v Nottingham Forest

Forest face mission impossible at Old Trafford tonight. Last week’s 3-0 defeat on home soil leaves the Reds facing a Mount Everest-sized challenge this evening.

Pride is at stake though…

Steve Cooper has spoken at length this week about how much pride his players should take in playing for the football club.

The order of the day tonight is for Forest to turn up, be professional and try and stick to a game plan to frustrate United.

Erik ten Hag is a decent manager. He treated Forest with the utmost respect last week and he should do the same this evening.

He will know that a Wembley final is now there for the taking and he won’t want any unneeded pressure tonight.

Forest have done remarkably well to reach the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.

Ultimately, they’ve been unfortunate to run into an in-form United side and it was always going to be a thankless task.

The Reds will be missing Morgan Gibbs-White this evening and that will be a devastating blow.

Forest can’t feel sorry for themselves though and they must remain professional at Old Trafford this evening.

Broadcast details

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event with the coverage set to begin at 7pm.

For those unable to get within distance of a television, full match commentary will be on BBC Radio Nottingham from 7pm too.
