Nottingham Forest and Everton have been linked with Andre Ayew and Sky Sports report Dharmesh Sheth has provided an update. The Reds and Sean Dyche have been mentioned in reports regarding the player once managed by Steve Cooper.

Forest didn’t manage to bolster their attacking ranks on deadline day. Chris Wood and Gustavo Scarpa did sign earlier during the transfer window, however, Cooper linked with lots of other forwards.

It had been claimed that Everton weren’t keen on Ayew. Some reports from Merseyside today, however, have claimed that Dyche could turn to the Ghana star to provide some firepower.

It’s been a drab season for the Toffees. They sit 19th in the Premier League and after sacking Frank Lampard, they were expected to add a few players to the squad during January.

Instead, Dyche was denied with several bids for a new striker. Deals for Conor Gallagher, Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi all fell through and their fans are deeply concerned.

Now, Sheth has provided an update on the future of Ayew. The 33-year-old will fly into England tonight and it’s claimed by the Sky Sports anchor that he will meet with two clubs over a deal.

Ayew has bags of experience. At 33, he’s hardly at the right end of his career but he did score 22 goals in 39 appearances for Al-Sadd so clearly he’s doing something right.

The Premier League is a different beast, however. Forest have Taiwo Awoniyi injured but Wood, Emmanuel Dennis and Sam Surridge are still in the ranks as options to Cooper.

The Forest head coach spoke fondly of Ayew during his time at Swansea. Ultimately, however, things move on and it does seem unlikely that he’d add much to the Reds’ squad right now.

Still, it’s hard to imagine that one of the clubs he’s planning to talk to isn’t Forest. He’s worked well under Cooper before and surely, he would welcome the chance to do that again if it was an option.
