Arijanet Muric is a name that still sends shivers down the spines of Nottingham Forest supporters. The ex-Manchester City goalkeeper made a comical blunder for Burnley last night and was withdrawn at half-time.
Vincent Kompany has defended his goalkeeper though. He’s claimed that illness was the reason for him being subbed off but his error will be one he wishes to park very quickly.

He came dashing out of his box and made a real hash of the clearance. Moments later Joao Pedro gave Watford the lead and Burnley needed an injury-time equaliser to claim a point.
The erratic moment by Muric will have looked commonplace in the eyes of Forest supporters. His debut at the City Ground saw him lobbed twice from distance as the Reds lost 2-1 to West Brom.
Things didn’t really get much better for the Kosovo number one. He made just a further four appearances for the club after quickly losing his place to Brice Samba between the posts.
Muric has been an interesting signing for Burnley. He’s played 28 matches this season, keeping 11 clean sheets with the Clarets already having one foot back in the Premier League.
Muric sends shivers down the spine of Forest and he’s up to his old tricks
It’s certainly better to be making mistakes when you’re top of the league as opposed to the bottom. For Muric, errors just seem to continue following him around.
When the Reds landed the Manchester City man it was viewed as a strong signing. He had been out on loan several times and earned rave reviews from Citizens boss Pep Guardiola.

Things never worked out for him though. He was easily dispossessed in the side by Samba and even found himself as the third choice for some of the time he spent at the club.
At 24-years-old, he does have time on his side. Vincent Kompany must be under no illusions, however, that he has a big job on his hands to get a consistent tune out of Muric.
