Nottingham Forest-owned midfielder Tyrese Fornah scored a crucial late winner last night as Reading defeated Rotherham. The maestro scored with his head late in the day as the Royals climbed up the table.
The Reds allowed Fornah to leave on loan during the summer. He’s rated highly by Steve Cooper though and before he headed out to the ELF club, he was handed a new contract by Forest.

Fornah has relished the chance to play regular first-team football. Furthermore, he’s working under Paul Ince and it’s fair to say he knows a thing or two about playing in central midfield.
The 23-year-old’s late winner saw him show maturity beyond his years. His header was calm and composed and it was Fornah’s first goal since August when he bagged against Middlesbrough.
After the game, he was given an appraisal by Berkshire Live, who claimed: “Came on for Long at half time. Struggled to get up to the speed of the game and needed to be more positive with his passing but kept his cool when it mattered most with a precise, calm header.”
Fornah has made appearances for the Reds’ first team before. He’s played four times for the club but none of those outings have come whilst Cooper has been at the club.
Fornah scored crucial winner for Reading and he’s showcasing his worth to Forest
The Forest academy graduate is at a bit of a crossroads in his career. At 23, he will want to be playing regularly and if the Reds remain as a Premier League club, his chances will be restricted at the City Ground.

However, if Forest are relegated, this season might have been worth its weight in gold. He’s sampling Championship football and learning from some top professionals like Andy Carroll, Jeff Hendrick and Shane Long.
It’s great to see Fornah playing well in the Championship. He’s a player that Cooper rates very highly and it will be interesting to see whether he has a future on Trentside.
