Nottingham Forest have suffered a devastating injury blow regarding Scott McKenna and Willy Boly and right now they’re desperate for Moussa Niakhate to return.
The Reds just can’t catch a break. With several players already nursing injury problems, Boly and McKenna are now the latest to join the ever-growing list of injured players.

Niakhate is back on the grass. It’s thought that a return is just around the corner and never before have the Reds crossed their fingers for a player to return.
Absolutely nothing against Felipe and Joe Worrall but the two have their weaknesses. The Brazilian is 33 and there is no saying he won’t pick up a niggle; whilst Worrall has sometimes struggled in the Premier League.
Furthermore, the Reds won’t have a recognised central defender on the bench. It’s even difficult to pinpoint a player in the squad that could do a job there.
As a result, the Reds are desperate for Niakhate to pick up the pack in his recovery. Being back on the grass is great but the club needs him back in full training quickly.
Forest are in dire straits right now. Frankly, dress it up however you like, but this list of casualties could threaten to derail Forest in their push towards survival.
Forest are desperate for Niakhate to return
It’s perhaps bizarre that Forest are pining for a player to return who has played just shy of two games in the Garibaldi. He’s not played since August but he did look useful when called upon.

Niakhate looked like a quality addition when he played against Newcastle and West Ham. He showed top-level experience, power and he’s also got a degree of pace about him.
It would be foolish of Forest to rush Niakhate back. There is a sense that the Reds have done that with other players this season and it’s not paid dividends.
Forest are facing a crucial run of games now and they’re in desperate need of some good news regarding Niakhate.
