Brice Samba has reacted on Twitter after Nottingham Forest held champions Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at the City Ground.

It proved a memorable Premier League occasion for the Reds. After going behind four minutes before the break, Forest equalised four minutes from time to earn a point.

The champions wasted several strong opportunities. In the second half alone they probably missed four of five big chances and Pep Guardiola’s team were made to pay.

A 19-pass move eventually saw Morgan Gibbs-White blast the ball across the face of goal to Chris Wood who tapped home unmarked at the back post.

It sparked pandemonium at the City Ground. The Reds fans roared their team on throughout the contest and got their rewards as Forest earned a point.

Wood scored his first goal for the Reds against the Citizens. It capped a tough week for him, with some Forest fans less than complimentary of the club’s decision to sign him.

The 31-year-old was clearly buzzing to notch against City. He will now hope to ensure he’s a regular starter in the team and keep scoring goals for the Reds.

The former Reds custodian never got to sample the City Ground for a Premier League clash. He chose to return to France after promotion and Forest moved to sign Dean Henderson.

He’s still clearly a big fan of the club and their fortunes, however. After yesterday’s huge result, he reacted on Twitter.

The Lens goalkeeper was going to make a joke based on the Wood aspect of a Forest goal but he chose not to.

Samba thought that would have been done to death and instead chose to show his pride in the team by saying: “Come on Forest.”

The talented goalkeeper will always be in the hearts of Forest supporters. The club has a lot to thank him for when it comes to being in the Premier League and he will forever be a cult hero.
