Pep Guardiola delivered a classy start to his post-match interview following a 1-1 draw for Manchester City against Nottingham Forest. The Citizens lost valuable ground in the title race as the Reds defied the odds at the City Ground.
Bernardo Silva seemed to undo some good first-half defensive work by the Reds. His long-range effort sailed into the net beyond Keylor Navas to give City the lead, despite Forest being defensively sound in the first half.

Several chances came and went during the second 45 minutes and City were made to pay. A 19-pass move ended with Morgan Gibbs-White setting up Chris Wood to tap home with six minutes remaining.
The result gave Forest a huge lift in their quest to stay in the Premier League this season. They remain five points clear of the bottom three but perhaps more crucially climbed to 13th once again.
Guardiola is often classy in his press interviews. Despite his annoying tendency to go crazy at the fourth official during the 90 minutes, he has been known to be a decent loser in the past.
Yesterday he felt the need to praise Forest and said to the club’s official website: “Congratulations to Nottingham Forest for the point that they got. We missed too many clear chances.”
Guardiola delivered classy interview after Manchester City draw with Forest
This was a detrimental result for City. Arsenal beat Aston Villa earlier in the day and Guardiola really needed to see his team make light work of Forest at the City Ground.
Several chances came and went. With the game heading to the closing stages with the score at 1-0, Forest gained confidence and the City Ground erupted when Wood pounced.

Guardiola didn’t have to congratulate Forest. The Reds did only draw after all and it would have been easy to say that they’d lived a charmed life and were desperately lucky.
He didn’t though and that speaks volumes of the bloke he is. Still, having thrashed Forest 6-0 at home in August, Guardiola must be raging deep down at how short on confidence his forwards appeared yesterday.
