Nottingham Forest youngster Tyrese Fornah has suggested that he’d be willing to quit the City Ground in the summer. The talented player is currently on loan with Reading and scored the winner against Rotherham last week.

Fornah is enjoying his time in Berkshire. He’s not found first-team football a given of late but more recently he has been handed several opportunities by boss Paul Ince.

The 23-year-old could find himself with a decision to make in the summer. Forest handed him a new deal before loaning him out but it remains to be seen what the future holds for him at the City Ground.

If Forest stay in the Premier League his prospects will surely be bleak. It would appear that he’d be willing to swap the Reds for the Royals on a permanent basis in an absolute flash.

Fornah told Wokingham Today: “I would love to sign permanently. If it was down to me, I would literally sign today.

“There’s a bigger picture between the two clubs but I do hope my future is here long term.

“I’m not thinking about it now and I’ll wait until the summer, but now for me is just about performing and playing well.”

The youngster was perhaps underused under Chris Hughton during his time at the club. At the start of the 2021/22 campaign when results were poor, he would have been worth a go.

Now, getting into the Forest engine room will be a more thankless task than it was before. The Reds have several top-quality options and Fornah would be way down the pecking order.

Relegation back to the Championship could change the complexion of the squad one more. Right now, however, Forest are looking up rather than down with survival in their own hands.

Fornah clearly craves regular football. He’s getting that with Reading and at 23-years-old, letting him leave wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world from a Forest perspective.
