Barcelona and AC Milan could rival Nottingham Forest for the signing of Angelo Gabriel, according to Football Espana. The Reds thought they’d signed the Brazilian wonderkid in January but the deal went south.
Now, Forest might be fighting a losing battle to add him to the squad. Barcelona and AC Milan will both have European football to offer and also have significant resources for Gabriel.
The Reds were desperate to add another forward to their squad before the window closed. Gustavo Scarpa and Chris Wood were signed but a different type of forward was identified.

Gabriel is only 18-years-old but he has a burgeoning reputation in world football. Despite his tender years, he has made over 100 senior appearances and typically operates as a versatile forward.
Forest are growing quite a contingent of Brazilian players. Scarpa joined Danilo, Felipe and Renan Lodi at the City Ground in January and the Reds are clearly leaving no stone unturned in South America.
The Reds will need to stay in the Premier League to have any hope of signing Gabriel. If they do, they will face competition from two of the biggest sides in Europe and it will really test the club’s pulling power.
Barcelona and AC Milan to rival Forest for Gabriel
The Reds won’t have been naive enough to believe that they’d have a free run at such a quality player. Gabriel has a £52 million release clause and that in itself indicates how highly he’s valued.
The Santos youngster will be a wanted man in the summer. His potential holds no ceiling and he can operate either as a centre-forward, or out wide as part of a front three.

Gabriel would be a tremendous signing for the Reds. He is young, talented, quick and also has the ability to become one of the very best players in world football in the future.
He will have to pick his next move carefully. The glitz and glamour of Milan or Barcelona will be very tempting but perhaps Forest would be in a position to offer him more frequent first-team football.
