Australian sports reporter Andy Maher believes that Nottingham Forest are monitoring Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou. The claim has been made on FOX Sports but it’s been claimed that a deal is unlikely, with the Reds’ hierarchy happy with Steve Cooper.
The Aussie head coach has been a revelation at Celtic. He checked in at Parkhead in the summer of 2021 and oversaw 73 wins from his 99 games in charge; leading Celtic to the double last season.

This season the Hoops are on the charge once again. They look certain to retain their Scottish Premiership title and are still fighting it out to win the two cup competitions in Scotland.
It appears that the club are fighting a losing battle to keep him, however. The report claims that Leeds United are really keen to appoint the manager who has no intention of considering a Celtic departure until the season has finished.
The Whites are currently in the Premier League relegation zone. They don’t have a proper manager and haven’t won a game in any competition since November, with Jesse Marsch recently getting the boot.
Maher has made quite the claim about Postecoglou. He believes that he will definitely be leaving Celtic in the summer and the Premier League could well be his next destination.
Reporter believes Forest are monitoring Postecoglou
Maher claimed live on air during a Fox Sports bulletin: “They’re going pretty well Nottingham Forest, Steve Cooper took over and got them out of the Championship into the Premier League, has done a good job.
“It would be stiff on the bloke who’s done all this good work with Nottingham Forest to replace him, and maybe even a bit fraught with danger, so that looks less likely as a potential (move) for Ange Postecoglou.”
That will be music to the ears of Forest supporters. Their support for Cooper will never waver and having just signed a new three-year deal, there is unfinished business on Trentside.

Forest might have to worry about a contingency plan though. Cooper’s stock is extremely high and it’s good that Forest do have a plan should a bigger club come and poach the Welshman.
For now, however, Forest won’t be persuing Postecoglou. He’s a superb manager and although he plays attractive football, Evangelos Marinakis seems extremely happy with the work being done by Cooper right now.
