Nottingham Forest defender Serge Aurier has explained to the media exactly how long he will be out injured for. The ex-Tottenham man went off with a calf problem on Saturday as the Reds drew 1-1 with Manchester City.
Aurier has been a revelation for the Reds since signing on a free transfer during the summer. Last season he was playing for Villarreal and helped them reach the semi-final of the Champions League.
Now, his focus is elsewhere and on a slightly different prize. If Forest manage to avoid relegation to the Championship this season it might be akin to winning the Champions League such is the importance.

It does appear as though the Reds might have to do without Aurier for a little while though. The player has been speaking to the media in Ivory Coast about his injury and early signs are he won’t play on Saturday.
He told Le Kpakpato Sportif: “I will be out for 10 to 15 days following my injury. After analysis, it’s an injury related to muscle fatigue.”
This is a blow for Forest. However, as Steve Cooper is always so often to point out, it will definitely be a case of next man up as the Reds face crunch games against West Ham and Everton.
The 30-year-old has made 19 appearances for the Reds. He scored his only goal in a Forest shirt during a 1-1 draw against Chelsea on New Year’s Day and he’s proved a quality freebie.
Aurier has explained how long he will be out injured
The Reds will be desperate to get Aurier back on the pitch as quickly as possible. He’s vitally important to the way in which Forest play and losing him for a prolonged period wouldn’t be ideal.
It is only muscle fatigue, however, and that is a good sign. Forest could have been seriously rocked had he torn or pulled his calf and thankfully he will only be missing for a couple of weeks.

Aurier, 30, has been a brilliant signing. He shows genuine determination qualities and has also used his leadership qualities to the team’s advantage, with Steve Cooper valuing his input.
Following this update, Cooper will breathe a huge sigh of relief. Neco Williams will likely deputise at West Ham but hopefully, Aurier will be ready to return in the not so distant future.
