Nottingham Forest made an offer to sign Ugurcan Cakir during the January transfer window, according to Hasan Tuncel. The Reds targeted the goalkeeper shortly after Dean Henderson picked up a thigh injury during a game against Leicester.
Forest turned their attention to Keylor Navas instead. It’s claimed that they offered Trabzonspor £1 million to sign Cakir on loan, with a view to signing him for £7 million during the summer.

Cakir is widely regarded as a goalkeeper who will eventually move to a big European league at some point in the future. He has been with Trabzonspor all of his career, making 191 appearances for the club.
This isn’t the first time that Cakir has been linked with a move to the Premier League. He’s been linked with a move to Newcastle and Liverpool in the past and interest will remain rife in the summer.
Forest have Henderson and Navas in their ranks right now. As a result, they have a couple of quality goalkeepers and it will be interesting to see who gets the gloves when they’re both fit.
Cakir is 26-years-old and that makes him a nice age for a goalkeeper. In theory, if Forest did sign him during the summer then he could feasibly become the club’s stopper for the next 10 years.
Forest made offer to sign Cakir during January and they could receive a boost
It now appears that the Reds could get a boost over Cakir. The Turkish outfit, it’s been claimed, are now prepared to sell their number one goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.

Cakir will be a wanted man. Several clubs in the Premier League will find themselves needing a new goalkeeper in the summer, with Tottenham and Manchester United likely to be on the lookout.
Trabzonspor will know they can’t keep Cakir from the clutches of a team in a top European league for long. Now, it remains to be seen whether or not Forest will go back in for the Turkish star during the summer.
