Angelo Gabriel could raise the City Ground roof if he signed for Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have been interested in Angelo Gabriel since the January transfer window. The Reds felt that they’d agreed on a deal to sign him but ran out of time to complete the capture.

The interest won’t waver though. Forest will have another chance to sign him in the summer provided they ensure another season in the Premier League.

Forest won’t be alone in the race next time around though. Newcastle are providing competition from England, whilst Barcelona and AC Milan are also keen.

Angelo plays for Santos and they don’t produce bad players. Pele made a name for himself with the Brazilian giants, whilst Neymar also began his career with the club.

The 18-year-old is going to be some player. He’s already made over 100 senior appearances despite his tender years and he looks destined to play in Europe.

Angelo has already been compared to Neymar. Betinho who used to coach Angelo told Goal: “He is like Neymar in terms of his dribbling at speed and his change of direction.”

Forest felt as though they’d landed Angelo in January. They were preparing to take the player on loan with a view to buying him in the summer. Despite claims of a medical taking place, the Reds couldn’t get it over the line.

This would be a sensational signing and he wouldn’t break the bank either. The fee of £20 million that is being mentioned could represent a steal if Santos would do business at that price.

Forest must target exciting young talent if they remain in the Premier League. Signing younger players could help with the constant injury problems that have riddled the club’s maiden season back in the top flight.

Angelo has the potential to dazzle the City Ground faithful. He is tricky, loves to beat opponents and gets fans out of their seats whenever he has the ball.

Forest will go in search of quality over quantity if they stay in the Premier League. As a result, they must do whatever it takes to get Angelo over the line in the summer.
