Micah Richards has raved about Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson on Match of the Day 2. The Reds forward scored twice during a 2-2 draw against Everton yesterday.
Johnson took his goal tally to nine for the season with his heroics. His second goal in particular was outstanding as he placed a wonderful left-footed effort beyond Jordan Pickford.

The 21-year-old is maintaining his role as Forest’s match-winner this season. During the 2021/22 campaign he fired 19 goals as the Reds won promotion to the Premier League.
Johnson caught the eye of Premier League winner Richards yesterday. He raved about the Forest star and he clearly thinks he can go a long way in the game on current form.
Richards told Match of the Day 2: “Brennan Johnson, he’s quality.
“He normally plays a little bit deeper be he was further forward in this game and it just adds a little bit of quality. In a game where it was frantic, he’s a player who wants to work hard for his team, wants to get crosses into the box.
“It’s real quality. He’s a really quality player for Forest.”
Richards has raved about Johnson
The man who played for England is a burgeoning pundit. He typically speaks a huge amount of sense and when he talks people typically listen.
Johnson was in fine form for the Reds yesterday. Without him they’d have lost this clash and thankfully he had his scoring boots on at the City Ground.

It’s quite scary to think how good Johnson can be. He’s only 21 and has years ahead of him in the Garibaldi at Forest.
The challenge for the Reds is to remain in the Premier League. They don’t want to lose Johnson and if they do slip into the Championship, keeping him will be impossible.
Forest are still embroiled in a relegation battle. If they’re to keep their heads above water, they absolutely need to ensure they keep Johnson fit and firing.
