Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson has been hailed by BBC Radio Five Live pundit Jobi McAnuff. The 21-year-old Reds star scored twice as the Reds claimed a 2-2 draw against Everton.
The club’s leading goalscorer took his tally to nine goals for the 2022/23 campaign. He scored two equalising goals as the Reds endured a pretty tough afternoon against Everton.

This was an entertaining game to say both teams have struggled of late. Both Everton and Forest came into this one on the back of defeats by four goals to nil against Arsenal and West Ham respectively.
Forest were pretty drab throughout the contest. They found it difficult to create clear-cut chances against an Everton side that clearly came to the City Ground to frustrate the Reds.
McAnuff has seen a lot of Johnson. He can typically be found on Sky Sports as a pundit for their EFL coverage but yesterday he was on duty with BBC Radio Five Live as Forest played Everton.
He was seriously impressed with the youngster and said: “He’s an incredible talent. I saw a lot of him in the Championship and he was absolutely outstanding.
“He has really found his feet. What I love about him is his directness, his positive attitude when he’s on the pitch.
“He’s developing into a really top finisher and his second goal was a prime example of that.”
Johnson hailed by McAnuff and he’s bang in form at the moment
The 21-year-old has been in fine form. It may sound somewhat cliched but Johnson has been like a completely new signing since the break for the World Cup at the end of last year.
He’s returned as a far better player and ultimately, he’s rewarding Steve Cooper for the faith shown in him. His tally of goals now stands at nine and there will likely be more to come.

Johnson really is becoming a fine footballer. He scored 19 goals during 2021/22 as the Reds won promotion and he’s currently taking the Premier League by storm at the moment.
McAnuff is right to laud Johnson after yesterday’s performance. If Forest have the desire to maintain their Premier League status, they will need the youngster to keep firing.
