BBC Radio Five Live pundit Jobi McAnuff has lauded the impact that Morgan Gibbs-White has had on Nottingham Forest. The 23-year-old Reds star was in action yesterday as the Reds drew 2-2 with Everton at the City Ground.

The club record signing has been in fine form this season. He works hard and he’s proving to be worth the money that Forest paid for him when they landed him from Wolves.

This was an entertaining game to say both teams have struggled of late. Both Everton and Forest came into this one on the back of defeats by four goals to nil against Arsenal and West Ham respectively.

Forest were pretty poor throughout the contest. They found it difficult to create clear-cut chances against an Everton side that clearly came to the City Ground to frustrate the Reds.

McAnuff has seen a lot of Gibbs-White He can typically be found on Sky Sports as a pundit for their EFL coverage but yesterday he was on duty with BBC Radio Five Live as Forest played Everton.

He was seriously impressed with the man who shone at Sheffield United last season and said: “I’ve got to shout out Morgan Gibbs-White. He’s been incredible as well as Brennan Johnson.

“He’s another player that went out and was brilliant in the EFL. I’m a huge advocate of younger players getting that experience at that level and then transferring it to the Premier League.

“With Johnson in the form he’s in and Gibbs-White, it gives them a real cutting edge in those forward areas. That’s going to be huge for them between now and the end of the season.”

Gibbs-White lauded by McAnuff and he’s in fine form

The 23-year-old has been in fine form. Since arriving he’s had to live with a hefty price tag but he’s taken it all in his stride and has been a wonderful player for the supporters to watch.

Steve Cooper identified the youngster as his number-one target after promotion to the Premier League. He has worked with him before with the England under-17 outfit and also during a loan with Swansea.

Gibbs-White is extremely exciting. He makes things happen on the football pitch and the Reds are extremely lucky to have him as part of their squad.

McAnuff is right to laud Gibbs-White. If Forest have the desire to maintain their Premier League status, they will need the versatile forward to stay fit and keep firing.
