Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has made a decision on the future of Nottingham Forest loan star Renan Lodi. The Brazilian signed for the Reds in August as Los Rojiblancos chose to offload him.
It’s believed that Forest do have the option to sign Lodi on a permanent deal. A fee of £25 million has already been agreed upon and the Reds could make the move should they stay in the Premier League.

Lodi has proved a very useful signing for the Reds. He did start slowly to life in England but since a 2-0 win over Tottenham in the Carabao Cup back in November, he’s been brilliant.
At 24-years-old, Lodi has bags of time to continue improving his game. The Reds would surely welcome the chance to land him permanently in the summer and Lodi is enjoying life at Forest.
Now, Simeone has made a huge call. According to Spanish outlet AS, Atletico Madrid have already made the decision to sell Lodi whether it’s to Forest or not in the summer.

Despite current left-back Reinildo picking up a serious injury, Lodi has no chance of a reprieve. As a result, the La Liga giants will try and offload the player during the summer.
Simeone has made a big decision on Lodi and Forest must pounce
Even at £25 million, Lodi would be a wonderful signing. He’s been brilliant for a while now and if Forest stay in the Premier League, he would provide some continuity at left-back and they must act.
Simeone appears to have marked Lodi’s card. He’s not keen on letting him come back into his squad and it looks like being 118 appearances and out for the Brazilian at Atletico.

Lodi’s form has been evident and Brazil have noticed. He’s been called into the national team squad for the friendly against Morocco at the end of the month.
This is a big piece of news from a Forest perspective. Firstly, the Reds have to remain in the Premier League but if they do, Lodi should become the team’s first signing of the summer.
