Nottingham Forest remain keen on Besiktas defender Romain Saiss and they’ve discovered how much he will cost. According to Fanatik, the Reds are set to move for the 32-year-old once more after almost signing him in January.

With Forest in the middle of an injury crisis, the Reds sought centre-backs on transfer deadline day. Felipe was one player they got over the line but they failed in several other attempts.

Saiss was sought-after among several clubs. He was on the back of a wonderful World Cup at the end of last year where he helped Morocco reach the last four in Qatar.

He starred at the competition and interest has been rife ever since. He played in six of the seven fixtures his country played at the competition and has made 72 caps for Morocco in total.

Saiss typically plays as a central defender and has experience playing football in England. Prior to signing for the Turkish outfit, he spent six years at Wolves, making 206 appearances and scoring 15 goals.

It would appear that the Reds are keen to go back in for Saiss during the summer. He’s firmly on the radar and interestingly he’s one player who might still be on the list if they go back to the Championship.

Forest keen on Saiss and they’ve discovered their valuation

The Reds will be compiling two lists of players ahead of next season. The names will be different based on which division Forest are playing in and they will hope it’s the Premier League.

Saiss would be a quality addition to the squad. He has the experience and more to the point he’s still playing at a decent level with Besiktas where he is a regular in the team.

Landing a player like Saiss for £4.5 million wouldn’t exactly break the bank. He still has a number of years left in his legs and perhaps this would be an impressive signing for Forest to make.
