Nottingham Forest gem Dale Taylor is starring on loan at Burton Albion and now he’s been handed an international call-up. The 19-year-old has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for the upcoming games against San Marino and Finland.

The youngster is getting a first taste of men’s football on a regular basis with the Brewers. He has scored twice for the club as they bid to maintain their status as a League One club this season.

Taylor is tipped for a bright future at the City Ground. He has made one substitute appearance for the Reds, coming on as a substitute against Grimsby in the Carabao Cup.

The teenager was on the bench in the Premier League as Forest played Crystal Palace in November. On that occasion, he didn’t get on but clearly, he’s on the radar of Steve Cooper.

Taylor is loving life at Burton. The move looks absolutely perfect for the youngster and he’s been handed regular starts by boss Dino Maamria.

Now, he will link up with the Northern Ireland squad once again. Back in November 2021, he collected his first cap for the Green and Whites, coming on as a substitute against Lithuania.

The man signed from Linfield really is the boy wonder at Forest. It actually seems only a matter of time until he’s making an impact on the first team at the City Ground.

David Healy was in charge of Linfield when he departed. He called him ‘fantastic’ in an interview with Belfast Live and he wished him well when he joined Forest.

Taylor should stay in the Burton team for the remainder of the season. If he can get on the pitch for Northern Ireland next week, it should give him even more confidence.

The teenager looks like a wonderful talent. Last season he was a huge part of Forest reaching the FA Youth Cup Final but now he has bigger fish to fry.
