Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has praised the work done by Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest. The man who spent his career playing in the Premier League made the claim on Friday’s live coverage from the City Ground.
Cooper took charge of the Reds in September 2021. He replaced Chris Hughton with the team sat bottom of the Championship and led the Reds to promotion in the same season.

Carragher has praised Cooper throughout the season. On Friday he was at it once again and he also made a little prediction in the fight against survival for Forest.
When asked if Cooper was the right man to keep Forest up, he told Sky Sports: “Oh without a doubt, yes. You think of the job he’s done here, the supporters absolutely love him. The record at the City Ground is what will decide whether they stay up or not.
“It’s the first time they’ve lost in 10 games, I think, at home. They need to continue that run of form they’ve had at home. I don’t think their away form is going to massively improve but they’ll need to pick up a few points here and there.”
Carragher has praised Forest man Cooper
The Reds are in a real dogfight now and they need everyone to stand up and be counted. Including Cooper.
The head coach will be leaving no stone unturned in his quest to revive the club’s fortunes.

Carragher is probably right too. It will be Forest’s home form that ultimately decides their fate and if they can get anything on their travels it will be a bonus.
Forest need to pick up points again and quickly. They are starting to slip back down the table and that’s a worry.
Cooper has earned his money since he arrived at the City Ground and he will need to get his team back to their best after the international break.
