Nottingham Forest midfielder Braian Ojeda has been named in the Paraguay squad for a game against Chile. The youngster is currently out on loan in the MLS with Real Salt Lake City.

The talented player arrived at the City Ground in August 2021. He was added to the Forest ranks by Dane Murphy who plucked the youngster from Paraguayan outfit Olimpia.

His first season in England was very much a period of adaptation. He made just three appearances for the Reds, with Steve Cooper preferring more experienced members of his squad.

In the summer, following Forest’s promotion to the Premier League, Ojeda was loaned out. He has since made 10 appearances for the MLS outfit, starting all three of their games in the new campaign.

Ojeda is viewed as an option for the future. At 22-years-old he has bags of time on his side, and at the end of the current campaign, he will only be halfway through his four-year contract.

The youngster showed flashes of brilliance during his time at Forest. Ultimately, he was unable to force his way into the team on a regular basis, however, and often missed out on the squad.

The talented player is now considered a first-team regular with Real Salt Lake. During last season he was perhaps more of a backup option but his three starts this year suggests he’s more integral.

Ojeda is a neat and tidy player. He passes the ball brilliantly well and is also not afraid to get stuck into tackles from his natural position as a defensive midfielder.

Paraguay clearly have high hopes for the player. Despite failing to register a single goal contribution for Real Salt Lake, he’s still been called into the squad for the forthcoming game.

Ojeda could have a bright future with the Reds. It will likely depend on what division the team are playing in next year and the player will hope to keep impressing for club and country.
