Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has posted a message on Instagram after the Reds were beaten by Newcastle. The Nigerian hasn’t played since a 1-0 win over Southampton back in January and he’s been sorely missed.
Forest are in abysmal form right now. They haven’t tasted the sweetness of a victory since beating Leeds at the start of February and are without a win in six Premier League games.

Awoniyi has been a big miss to the way Steve Cooper likes his team to play. He was just starting to thrive in the role of playing as a left-sided forward and scored the winner against Southampton.
The 25-year-old has proved a popular signing among the fan base. He took some time to settle following his £18 million move from Union Berlin but has found the net five times for the Reds.
Awoniyi is working his way back to full fitness. He’s been spotted in the gym at the club’s training ground and it looks as though his groin injury is healing quite nicely.
There is definitely more to come from Awoniyi before the season is over. He will provide a much-needed steely presence in the final third and Cooper will hope he’s back very soon.

The striker has delivered an update on his fitness. It would appear that it’s quite positive with the man who scored 18 goals last season suggesting that he will be ‘back soon’.
Forest really need him to come back into the team. They’ve missed his physicality since he picked up an injury, with Chris Wood struggling to perform the same duty.
It would appear that Awoniyi is champing at the bit to get back into action. The striker’s return cannot come soon enough for Forest and he will need to fire the Reds to safety.
