Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White captained England Under-21s yesterday but he’s really upset Giulian Biancone. The Reds’ record signing was tossed the armband for the first team and helped the Three Lions claim a 4-0 victory.

It proved a comprehensive victory for the Young Lions. Gibbs-White assisted Emile Smith Rowe to score the first goal; with Noni Madueke, Curtis Jones and Jacob Ramsey also bagging.

For Gibbs-White the game will live long in the memory. He will hope that being trusted as the captain of the young England squad means that he’s firmly in the picture for a senior call-up.

England play Croatia on Tuesday night. Forest star Gibbs-White will captain the team once again before rejoining the Reds squad ahead of a huge game against his former club Wolves.

Gibbs-White’s assist for the first goal yesterday was sublime. He switched the ball onto his right foot away from the defender and whipped a delightful ball onto the head of Smith Rowe who duly obliged.

The 23-year-old will hope to stay in form with Forest between now and the end of the campaign. He will hope to weigh in with more goals and assists as the Reds battle against relegation.

Gibbs-White has really upset Biancone

The Frenchman has barely played for the Reds after injuring his cruciate knee ligament earlier in the season. That blow ruled him out for the season but his rehabilitation is going extremely well.

After Gibbs-White was part of a rampant England performance, the player took to Instagram. In response, Biancone posted a somewhat comical message that he wasn’t happy.

Clearly, the defender was rooting for his compatriots. He posted on Gibbs-White’s Instagram: “Why you put four against my country, bro?”

Gibbs-White is arguably one of Forest’s best signing in recent years. He oozes class every time he plays and Steve Cooper was wise to push for his arrival during the summer.

On this occasion, Gibbs-White has really upset Biancone. However, if the youngster helps maintain Forest’s status as a Premier League club, all might be forgiven.
